Trevor Nelson has been the voice of R&B and Soul for over two decades and has carefully curated the entire album. Trevor Nelson remains very much in the public focus, having been a Radio 1 DJ since 1996 and a presenter of numerous music based television shows. Regular radio shows now include weekly shows on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and 1Xtra, with recent TV appearances coming from the BBC’s coverage of the London Olympics 2012, and The Apprentice ‘You’re Fired’. Further appearances have come from hosting ‘The Lick’ on MTV for 11 years, covering the Grammys and Players Club for the BBC and Soul Nation for Channel 4. Trevor Nelson also continues to DJ around the world and is in his 10th year of residency at Pacha in Ibiza.
‘The Trevor Nelson Collection’ features a plethora of Top 10 hits that perfectly encapsulate everything R&B, from major artists including R. Kelly, En Vogue, Toni Braxton, Donell Jones and Usher. These artists sit next to established megastars such as Luther Vandross and the legend that is Michael Jackson; who aptly opens the set with the incredible ‘Rock With You’.
From the ‘80s there is Soul II Soul, Cameo, and Alexander O’Neal with ‘Criticize’, continuing with massive cross-over hits from the ‘90s courtesy of Blackstreet, Montell Jordan, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, TLC, SWV, Mariah Carey and the UK’s Mark Morrison with the huge ‘Return Of The Mack’. The collection is then brought up to date with some of the biggest artists of the last decade including Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Kelis, Timbaland and Ne-Yo with his debut No. 1 ‘So Sick’.
